w100
Women100 (W100) is a community of diverse women from all corners of Brussels who wish to connect and amplify the voices and actions of women in Brussels.
For our first gathering in March 2019 we organized a day with 100 inspiring women as a symbol in order to develop a vision for a more inclusive city of Brussels.
Since then we have been organizing spaces and events that bring together women who are changemakers from different fields from all communes to imagine a powerful common vision and solutions for how we can co-create a Brussels that celebrates all communities, ages, origins, nationalities, languages, and abilities.
These include a portrait exhibition of women active during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Bourse in 2021, a picnic reclaiming public space in the street in June 2022 and 2nd large gathering of 100+ women in November 2022.
For more information on our mission and values, see our charter.

SATURDAY 24 JUNE 2023 - Place De l’ALBERTINE
On Saturday, 24 June 2023, we gathered at Place de l'Albertine dressed in purple to demonstrate in favor of a public space that is inclusive and friendly to women to be “Proud, Loud, & Visible.”
With the registration of 90 and participation of 70 women, the objective of the action was to make visible the diversity of women in public space, creating a bridge between women of diverse origins and groups in creating a movement together, occupying public space in a proud, strong and visible way.
It was a day of joy, where we celebrated together the values we defend: diversity, autonomy, respect, love, solidarity, inclusion and resilience. We will protest proudly and loudly to make women's issues visible in public spaces.

The place of women in public spaces in Brussels
On 26 November, in our fourth major gathering, W100 brought together diverse women from Brussels to the Brussels Parliament to plan actions that will make the city's public spaces more radically inclusive and supportive of women's needs.
During this day, we contemplated and exchanged different concepts of public space and its challenges and opportunities, discovered each other and ideas through speed-dating, created new initiatives, laughed, danced, and networked!
Through joy and collective action, W100 once again mobilized the collective wisdom and power of sisterhood and solidarity to make Brussels a better city for women.

CELEBRATING WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP IN BRUSSELS DURING THE COVID CRISIS EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHIC PORTRAITS OF 100 WOMEN
The exhibition and associated actions symbolically and actually reclaimed public space by, for and about women in the heart of Brussels.
But who are they? You can find all the photos on the page 100 portraits.
Some content are on Instagram and Facebook as well.
Thank you Karema Menassar and Kate Havrlik for the photos.
2020
During the lockdown of the Covid 19, we made a call for women in Brussels who have been active during the COVID crisis.
It was such a success! We celebrated and made visible the multitude of ways 100 women have led their communities and work in Brussels during the past year via a campaign on our W100 Facebook page.
In keeping with the philosophy of W100, we have tried to present women of all cultural, social and geographical origins.
This campaign led to a public exhibition with the portraits of all these women on the exterior of the Stock Exchange (Bourse) building in the heart of downtown Brussels!
W100 is the project of all Brussels women, agents of change!
2019
On 30 March 2019, W100 organized our first event bringing together more than 100 women, who reflected Brussels’ true socio-demographic-cultural diversity, to meet and discuss “how to live better together” in our city. Held at the Brussels Stock Exchange (Bourse/Beurs), it was the first time women had dominated this space.
It was an honour to spend this day with all these wonderful women. We jointly created a space where every woman had a voice to share their stories, experience, thoughts and vision on creating a Brussels inclusive from their perspective...and so much more.
It is with great pleasure to share our analysis of this W100 experience. We have brought together the main outcomes of the day and feedback from the participants gathered through a survey. We hope that you will enjoy reading some of the amazing stories and feel the positive energy from W100 in this report.
Thank you / Dank u / Merci to everyone who joined and supported us to make this day possible!
